Re: Nice stash of docs found at auction
Nice finds!! A few years ago I went into a half price book store and found similar books on the gun section shelf. Got to looking at them and I noticed a couple of old model Single-Six consecutive pairs noted in the margins. Hah!!! I know who's books they were!!! Fred Nielson, one of the early colle...

Re: XR3 grip frame & trigger variations
It is curious why Ruger wouldn't use a conversion trigger that would fit all of them.
That trigger slot though is milled after the grip frame is cast, so perhaps they were slightly out of spec (narrower) on a few.

Re: Ruger 21 Lithographs
I'm sure that someone will chime in if I'm wrong, but I believe there were two sets of 21. There was a book shop in Wyoming that had both sets that had both sets on ebay and were asking $1000 for them. I communicated back and forth but ultimately did not purchase them. They were just the prints and...

Re: Question on a 1AB in .223
The 1AB in .223 was a scarce model. None of the prefix AB's were around that long, but the .223 may rank as the scarcest.

Curious what the postmark date is on the USPS label.
Never seen those before, so probably rare.

Re: 1951 Standard pistol
If it falls within the s/n range of 17,273 to 21,808 it is a type 9. SRV There is an exception to that. #6543 was an old receiver at Ruger that didn't get assembled until Ruger was in the midst of using up their blue triggers, so has all the features of a Type 3 Red Eagle except blue bolt and blue ...

Re: M77 as a barreled action from factory?
Yes, at one time Ruger offered barreled actions for their M77 series of rifles as well as the Number 1. Though never cataloged, they are also known to have shipped 2 or 3 #3 Carbine barreled actions in .44 mag.

Re: FBI Academy 50th Anniversary Security-Six
There are engraved examples as well, I believe in at least two different coverages. Not sure if Ruger had anything to do with the hand engraving or not.

Re: OM SS I got from my grandfather #244279
Take good care of that one! There were only 299 Single-Sixes produced in the 244020 to 244318 serial number range. These are composed of approximately 160 as the convertible model RSS5X and 130 that were shipped as the LR only model RSS5W. The auxiliary (extra) cylinder for your gun would be the mag...
