Re: Ruger number 1A in 30/06 with a 24 inch medium weight barrel?
Yes they did a run (or two?) of these with 24" B-weight barrels a few years ago. In my opinion, a much more desirable configuration than the thin 22" A-weight.

Re: Ruger No.1 - laminate in .338 winmag
I assume this is a 1B. The easy (and likely) answer is that someone just changed the stocks. About as simple as it gets.

Two Number Ones left for sale
I have a 133-prefix 1S 7mm Mag with aftermarket LH stock and fantastic figure, and a "put together" AH 243 Win. (sn 130-01210 which letters as a 1V 22-250) with a non-prefix barrel). Either rifle $1150 plus shipping.

Re: Ruger No.1 International 7x57 on GA
I'll be watching, as I just decided to sell my RSI 7x57 from 1985 (red pad) in excellent condition with the factory box.
Just have to decide what price to put on it and where to move it.

Re: schuetzen
I saw that one and was very tempted . . . Are you shooting it with fixed ammunition or are you breech seating? I had a 1S relined to 32-40 a few years back and haven't shot it enough too say so. Too many rifles, too little time (or more accurately, too little good weather!) A little off topic,...

No. 1 tang length differences?
Is anyone aware of a change in tang length for the Number One at some point? I have a very nice XXX factory stock, unaltered, that comes up about 1/16"-1/8" short in the tang inletting when I try to put it on any of my other Number Ones. This stock came on a rifle I bought some time back, ...

Re: differences in #1s
since it is a 133 prefix gun, most likely it was altered by someone. That said there is always odd things that show up. you can do a serial number lookup on ruger website that would be a start. but as was stated previously getting a ruger letter is the best way to know... yea for $10 thats the best...

Re: differences in #1s
If it's an early non-prefix sn rifle, then it would be called a BBS. If it has a serial number prefix, it's highly likely that someone other than Ruger "created" it with those features.
