MKII Express in .243
This might be a rare or uncatalogued rifle; .243 is not listed in the Ref. Seller says the SN is 780-22253 which comes back as an RL??? Must be a data entry problem. Great price for this mis-identified piece and the auction ENDS THIS AFTERNOON. Good luck. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1092468596 OO...

Re: Anyone seen stags like these?
The placement of the emblem on the right panel seems off but otherwise look like they might have been factory, originally, but the modification certainly affects collectability.

Re: 10/22 magnum Sporter project
Finally got back to the range after the fires subsided. Ran five rounds flawlessly and I was just getting a grin on when it started. Empty cases were only extracted half way out, causing a jam. Finally jammed every round. Frustrating. Another close inspection revealed that the extractor might have b...

Re: .357 MAGNUM Deerfield?
Not everyone is a hunter nor is every gun. Ruger just re-released the 77/357 - what's that used for? Pistol-caliber, semi-auto carbines are all the rage and the .357, while not packing the wallop of a .44 mag, is a formidable round out of a rifle. Also cheaper and kinder to the shoulder. I would als...

.357 MAGNUM Deerfield?
Someone on another forum asked the question: "Why didn't Ruger manufacture a .357 version of the Deerfield?" I've often wondered myself as I think it would be an instant hit with shooters. Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to adapt the design - the magazines already exist. Furthermore, I...

Re: 10/22 magnum Sporter project
I sure hope you're right, Jay. It looks like VQ left a little raised ring around the chamber, which may have been their solution to extraction problems. If so, the barrel should have been accompanied by a no-dry-fire notice because there's a FP indentation visible in the before pic. I think the main...
