Re: Which is the old timer?

Great job, enough character to deserve a name.

I thought about naming my guns many ears ago, but decided against it. Like the legless dog, they won't come when called.

:D :D :D

Re: Howdy! New Ruger Collector

Now that is what I call a collection! Thanks for showing us.

I've never claimed to be a collector, just an accumulator.

And, Howdy right back atcha!

Which is the old timer?

I had this Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt built up about 1987 or 1989. After making this photo at the time and observing it, I thought at the time that the Ruger looked more like an old Colt than the Colt did: https://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i230/BobWright/Guns%20Miscl/46524ab6-468e-45d4-b7bb-ae5fec7b4...

Re: German-engraved Single Six Magnum

I tried to fit an aftermarket set of old style xr3 grips but a small raised ramp shape under the top of the panels prevented them from seating. Is that something I have to custom fit? Better photos later. Owen That little "ramp" shown in photos of the grip frame is common to all but the l...

Re: German-engraved Single Six Magnum

Why engrave a Single Six? Folks engrave watches, Zippo lighters, pocket knives, whatever; so why not a Single Six? I do admire engraved guns when well done and in good taste, which yours is. But, for me, the cost of engraving equals the purchase of another gun. I remember many years ago, back when I...

No rifleman here.......

Not for many years since being discharged from the Army. I'm not much of a hand with a rifle, so have few. I bought this 10/22 Sporter many years ago and fitted it with a Redfield Widefield 4X scope with the idea it would be my squirrel rifle. However, it turned out to be my range rifle instead. It ...

Some Bisleys...............

I mentioned my friend Tommy Russell on another post, and thought I'd share some of the guns he orchestrated. Orchestrated? Tommy did some action work but farmed out the grips and finishing. Tommy got interested in Rugers and decided that since he was a mite late he would concentrate on the collectio...

Well used .45 Colt...

This is Ruger has had more rounds fired through it than any other gun I own. Its a .45 Colt Blackhawk. I bought the gun in June of 1987. Before I even took it home, I had my dealer send it back to Ruger for fitting the Super Blackhawk Dragoon style grip frame and grips, and to fit a .45 ACP cylinder...
