Scored a MKII Govt. model!
A little while ago, I was at my preferred local gun shop; they had just gotten in a batch of used guns from an estate, and sitting in the case was a beautiful stainless MkII Government Model! Like the little Bearcat I found a few years back, it was whispering to me "Take me home with you....&qu...

New 10-22 - LEFT handed!
Just got a mailing from Ruger... Ruger has released a left-handed 10-22 Competition Rifle! True left-handed operation, down to "mirror-image" magazines (the rotor goes opposite the direction of the right-handed ones). https://www.ruger.com/micros/customShop/31110.html A bit pricey, but giv...

50th Anniversary 10-22
A few years back, I picked up an 50th Anniversary model 10-22; it's a model 01184, with a hydro-dipped laminate stock (a gray-green pattern resembling scales). Re: My first Bearcat!
On the right side of the grip frame, in the web at the base of the grip - cast in it is "PR-1". There is also a fainter 1/8" high partial rectangle parallel to the backstrap with the letters "ALC" inside it just above the locator pin.

My first Bearcat!
I went up to visit some family about 3 hours away a few days ago; having some time to spare in town, I stopped by a gun store nearby and found a sweet Bearcat, which whispered "Take me home with you - they don't appreciate me here!" It has a 5-digit S/N in the 83xxx range (1967), 4 inch ba...

Hello from the 4 Corners!
Hello, all -- Came across this place, and thought I'd join up, learn all I can, and perhaps contribute as I can. I'm from the 4 Corners area (where CO, NM, AZ, & UT meet); great shooting area (my gun club has a great range, with rifle up to 800 yards), and generally a nice place to live. I don't...
