XR3-RED prototypes with one missing

Another one of Taryn's projects. I'm still missing the preproduction speckled grip panels to get it buttoned up. Any and all leads would be greatly appreciated.

Re: LWSC with nice wood grips

I pulled a couple of my contoured XR3 grips and I'm not sure I see any issues with the ones on your guns. The back will be telling but I personally don't see anything wrong from your photos.

Re: Bill Ruger - "Special Deputy Sheriff"

I also have this Thank You note from Tom's funeral. Can anyone help with the handwriting on the note? Does it say, "Contribution to Mount Sinai"?

It has a stamp on the back "Received April 1, 1993"

Re: Bill Ruger - "Special Deputy Sheriff"

I only have one with his signature. The second one has his name written out but I'm not sure that he is the one to write his name on the card. The handwriting is different as well as the color of the ink, so it was at least two people that wrote on it.

Taryn's latest shadow box

Its hard to see the depth but the decal and the patch are both "suspended" about halfway from the back of the box and the glass to give them a floating affect. The labels are also floating but closer to the back then the glass.

Re: LWSC with nice wood grips

That is probably one of the better descriptions I've read. I wonder where they got 1973? Looks like it's a 1958 so the walnut panels were being shipped by Ruger on the 44 flattops by that time and were an option to purchase as a replacement for the black hard rubber grips for an extra $1 on the sing...

Here is a section of the writeup that came with the briefcase.

Re: Bill Ruger - "Special Deputy Sheriff"

Another interesting one. No date on the card or the sticker that I see.

Bill Ruger - "Special Deputy Sheriff"

Being a car collector and a member of the Bentley Drivers Club makes sense, but I was surprised by the Deputy Sheriff card.
