since it is a 133 prefix gun, most likely it was altered by someone. That said there is always odd things that show up. you can do a serial number lookup on ruger website that would be a start. but as was stated previously getting a ruger letter is the best way to know... yea for $10 thats the best...

If it's an early non-prefix sn rifle, then it would be called a BBS. If it has a serial number prefix, it's highly likely that someone other than Ruger "created" it with those features. can't find a ser# on bbl. on bottom of reciever next to cocking lever is 133-387xx. no prefex. heavy as...

trigger job on a #1
got a 1998 #1 in 30-06 recently. trigger pull is not bad, and fine for the hunting rifle it is, but i'd like a little bit lighter pull, maybe 2lbs. i have done a few on remington 700s but never a #1. is this a common practice, easy to do, never do it..........??? thanks

cleaned bbl real good, wasnt too bad, some copper and carbon. shot 4 foulers, then shot 4 more. just under an inch at 125 yds. 150 gr SP over 44 gr rel 15. guess i'll keep it.

i tried 3x to post a pic. each time says too large a pic, even when i cropped it way down. and its way smaller than the 2 pics of the gun above. so.....i dunno. sure would like to put one on though. was a small tasty sow. one i got friday was 250 lbs or so boy pig.
