I agree with the 357, my grandson last year shot his first deer with it at age 8. This year he shot shot a 7 pt with it. Uses 38 specials for practice (very low recoil) and the 357 mag for deer. I even had a shortened stock made for it so it would fit him better. Although this year he grew and uses ...

since it is a 133 prefix gun, most likely it was altered by someone. That said there is always odd things that show up. you can do a serial number lookup on ruger website that would be a start. but as was stated previously getting a ruger letter is the best way to know...

for prefix models the production designations are A, B, S, V, H, AB, AH, RSI, many have various barrel lengths and a couple of 1 offs like D (Lyman), SC (Lipsey's 26" barrel) for non prefix, which were all special order, there are many more possibilities. I think that what he is saying is just putting on the current 1V blocks on a 1s, which are spaced for modern scopes, not the old style Fecker mounts that were on the early guns.. :?:
