So it's a 1956? It looks pretty good as it is. Not what it should be, but looks like the job was done well and not ugly color choices. I'd probably go with the it is what it is option since it's not ugly.

I would ask Ruger giving date etc. from that paper. The worst they can (and probably will) do is not tell you anything. Then ask who you got it from. Too bad we can't get letters any more, you could maybe find out from who it originally shipped to. Maybe Ruger would tell you that. Another thing to a...
