many holsters will interchange and work, BUT the SP is quite a bit larger than the 'J' frame if that holster is 'custom" FIT.......wet it ( the holster) and wrap a plastic bag around the gun, and force it in, just may work.....done that many times over the years......

for as "light" as that is etched in the bottom, I would simply ( and carefully) draw file/polish it out, touch it up with whatever we had handy, alumahyde, krylon, whatever...most folks would not "see" it, the bottoms usually take a beating anyway...... names ,addresses and social security numbers h...

Yes, I agree with Chad, as back then you could buy either a receiver or a barreled action direct from Ruger...............

Rick, welcome to the Forum and some good ideas above but I have to be the "anti" or the other side of the coin....after having owned 3 different gun shops, speciallizing in "service" we have found over the years all too often MORE harm and damage has been done by "over cleaning", improper use of too...

Ah Ha, now I see, I always think of the original "low number" system they used in the beginning,,,all of Bill Rugers friends, workers int he plant, etc....the OLD models...though we do have two of Bobby Tylers offerings in the number #31,,,,a Shopkeeper bearcat and the new Vaquero 357/9mm convertibl...

sounds like a plan to me, you get what YOU want....you say you are getting the #54 guns??? I thought they did away with the low number program yeara ago,..I knew guys who got their numbers but the company stopped it,,,I have a few of the #31 guns got thewm over the years and have about 6 or 7 of the...
