OM Bearcat questions

Post by Dyermountain »

I have read that the OM Bearcat with six digit SN starting with 99 are rare, is that the case? I have one in unfired condition, is taking it to the range something that I will regret? I originally bought it as a shooter but would hate to be responsible for destroying some kind of history. I can attach photos later if that will help. Thanks!

That is a desirable variation for Cat collectors. We believe there were about 1200 of those 99xxxx Bearcats made so that is not really very many guns. I personally would keep that one just like it is to retain more collector value. That being said if you decide to shoot it just take care of it.

Bill,
If this Bearcat is rare, I'll probably try to trade it off for something I can carry in a holster guilt free. Maybe a stainless New Model Bearcat.

Thanks for the info

I may be interested in a trade like that. Is your gun boxed? I am sending you a PM and an email.
