MORE SAD NEWS

Post by flattop44 »

Recently heard that Mr. Joe Wanenmacher who has operated the Tulsa Arms Show for many years recently passed away. Joe was an Honorary ROCS Member and good friend to all of us guns folks. He will be missed.

He was such a nice and down-to-earth guy. He stopped and chatted with me for a bit about my displays and you could tell that he really appreciated Ruger row. May he also rest in peace and I certainly hope that his family will continue the tradition.

That's tough to hear, one year he stopped and talked to Jackie for about a half hour about family and such. He has a sister that lives in PA about 45 minutes from us. Joe was a great guy and as said he really liked Ruger row. Told me he liked my DA revolver display and that not many people showed them. May he rest in eternal peace and prayers/condolences to his family.

MORE SAD NEWS

I met him at Tulsa many years go, very interesting guy. I asked him about when all this started for him. I believe he said 1968 or so. he and a small group of local gun guys started a small show and it took off to what we now have. I recall him saying he never wanted it to be about him, but the phone calls just kept coming. seems to me he did not mind the calls, and we all should be thankful for that. great old guy. Scott
