DA Ruger guys don't faint, I'm still a hard core DA person. I bought a .30 Carbine NM Blackhawk when I was at the OGCA show this weekend. I came upon this BN31 and after reading a lot of posts about them decided I wanted one...and the price was right. I have plenty of .30 Carbine ammo as I own a M1 Carbine also so no problem there.
Here's the Info:
Red and White box, Box end label:
New Model "BLACKHAWK"
.30 Carbine Cal Revolver
Catalog No. BN31 7 1/2" Bbl
The s/n was written in white on the front of the box
s/n 51-13163, dates to 1978
Has the Southport "Warning" address on the left side
Included the manual marked MRN5/25/4-78 and the light blue Ruger/NRA card
With walnut grips. Next to NO turn line. The guy selling it was selling for a friend and he said he didn't think the guy ever shot it. Looking at the barrel and cylinder/cylinder face I would have to agree. Bought some grips tha Bill Hamm was selling because I liked the looks and thought they would look good on the gun. They are a bit thick at the top but they fit my hand fine so I'll work on that later.

Very nice! Just make sure you have hearing protection on if you shoot it, cause those babies are LOUD!

I like it! What are those grips? Neat looking for sure.
Re: New SA for me
I'll have to pull them off and get the info. I do know they are XR3-Red and made for the Ruger lock but the grip locator was perfect and the fit along the grip frame is perfect. Only thing is they are a bit thick at the top and stand proud at the top front. I think I can work on them to fit better once I do some research and talk to other more knowledgeable SA guys but they fit my hands good and that "fatter" portion won't bother my hands when I shoot it.
There was a guy at Bill Hamms sale table looking at them and I really liked them and thought they would go good with the gun. I'm very happy with them and their look.

Ron, they really do look good on that 30 Carbine. Like Gunman said, they are Loud. I wear ear plugs and muffs when I shoot them.

Looks great Ron! You should have a lot of fun with it. Good seeing you last weekend.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

I do not "own" these guns, I am but the next caretaker

Jay,
I tell the SA guys that I will never pass up a good deal on a Ruger SA because I can always use it as trading material But it is versatile as I can shoot .32-20 from it (just need to find some now).
