Ruger Auctioned Speed Six

Post by RoninPA »

Someone wanted this one REAL bad - was viewed 2546 times - sold for $1652.00
Did I look at it? Yes, but when it hit 4 digits I was out.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/884748131

No original box or paperwork and the manual is dated 1986

All I can say is WOW

Seems like there were three serious bidders in the end.
As to the price look at what the money is used for. Sometimes the Cause trumps the Cost!

Ron & Terry,
Crazy number$$$$$ :o

What I have seen with the on line auctions, and I am guilty myself, it's been so FREAKIN' LONG
since the last gun show I was allowed to attend, we ( ME!) will pay more to feed our addictions

I been looking around the vault to see what I might want to sell to capitalize on this....
Watertender's marbles is pretty much all I am willing to sell !!!

Cheers,
JAY

JAYDAWG those marbles are priceless. You may need them someday.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

Terry, I understand that and since we don't know the back story/stories we can't really speculate on why it went the way it did. It is nice that Ruger puts these up for auction and donates the money to really good causes.

I'm not a tax expert but I think that if the cause is a charitable institution then the money in excess of the value of the item being bought can be deducted from your taxes to the extent the IRS allows so it like a 2 for 1 deal.

I've seen a couple from that auction go that high too. Maybe the buyers consider it a contribution with a nice revolver as a bonus.
