Rare Ruger M77RLSBZ NIB

Here’s an early tang safety m77RLS (ultralight with sights) in 270 caliber. What makes it rare in my opinion is that it’s a laminate stock version. I’ve seen one or two other tang safety RLS rifles that claimed to have factory laminate stocks on them but they appear to be replacement stocks from a new production period (much like the ones seen for sale on eBay) because the color is different on mine compared to the others.
I know mine is authentic and has an original laminate stock because it’s still in the matching box that is labeled as being a laminate RLS.
Last I checked it is the only confirmed gun of its kind that is recorded in Chad Hiddleson’s Ruger collector files!
What do you all think?
Has anyone else out there seen or have one?

Is that a typo with the BZ, I've seen the M77RLSDZ referring to the factory DZ stock? I've seen one before but they are pretty scarce from what I've seen. Very nice looking rifle, thanks for sharing.

Bennett,
The end of the box is marked “BZ” (RLSBZ).
I’m not near my book but the BZ simply refers to a brown laminate stock if my memory serves me correctly. Pic below, thanks!

I don't know how rare it is, but it sure is a beauty! I wish Ruger (and all the other companies) would start putting iron sights back on all the rifles again. I know everybody (including me) probably puts scopes on, but I think a rifle just looks better with the iron sights.

I couldn’t agree more about the sights being put back in rifles.

That is one fine looking rifle! I am partial to iron sights over a scope any day. With my glasses I have a hard time using a scope. Williams Fire Sights and Skinner Peep Sights work for me though

Very nice gun.
They were also made in .30-06. Does anyone know the model numbers of those two carbines and how many were shipped?

There were probably only a few hundred of each at most.
Looks like the M77RLS-BZ in .30-06 was Ruger model 7767 and the .270 was Ruger model 7758.

The iron sights and laminated stock with black end cap really compliment your rifle.
Very nice snag!
