Yes, I have them on my Mini 14 as well. As your pictures testify to, they take quite a beating. I put them on to help preserve my scope. Mini 14s are really rough on scopes. Went through a couple cheap scopes before buying a Vortex, and so far so good.

Anytime a machine has two surfaces impacting each other, there is potential for stress risers and fracturing. Few shooters run their frames n slides through FPI/NDT (flourescent penetrant inspection) to inspect for damage. A CHEAP alternative is a buffer, and the Wilson or knockoffs are some of the best. Did I say CHEAP compared to welding up or scraping the frame and slide?

Answer: Of course they do.

Yes, they do work.
They also make the gun a little less clangy (quieter) as it cycles.
First thing I did on mine.
