10/22 Clear 10 round Magazines

Post by arcticruger »

Other than the 40th Anniversary 10/22, what criteria does Ruger go by to ship a new 10/22 out with the clear / red 10 round mags?

That’s what I’m trying to find out. There are always exceptions I know. I have seen brand new 10/22’s with the clear mag in them. I also bought one in 2007 that came with one, brand new in the box (actually have two from’07 that came with the clear mag). From others that I have seen, I’m starting to see a pattern, possibly model specific, but only for a 3-4 year period so far. Was just looking to see if others have noticed or seen this as well.

I just bought a used Charger pistol from 2008 and it had a clear mag.
Same time frame as you mentioned.
The guy was selling it for his brother.
I asked him if his brother had ever had a 40th rifle and he did not know.

Maybe the clear mag came with this Charger?

Curious, is it the stainless model with the brown laminate stock?

Also, if stainless, does it have the metal trigger housing or a black poly housing?

I have a number of magazines for my 10/22, but I've never seen a clear Ruger magazine...would like to pick some up though. Time to search the net.

It is a model 04901 shipped in 2008.
Grey with black receiver/barrel & poly trigger housing.
Came with a BX trigger assembly still in the packaging & bipod.
For $300 I couldn't pass it up!
Cheers,
JAY

Sweet deal, very nice! I bought the same exact one brand new almost 13 years ago to the day. ;)

My came with the standard black 10 rounder, that’s why I asked if yours was the stainless version.

Nice! I have often thought about that pistol version of the 10/22, but other than shooting the heck out of it, I don't know what I would do with it, in a practical sense.
