Ruger Woodside

Post by ruger66 »

This is the third Woodside I have owned. Two 2 digit and this 4 digit. I by far think this one has the best wood!

The wood is fantastic! You have something to be proud of with that shotgun.

Very nice "stick" of walnut on your gun! It appears you got straight grain strength through the pistol grip, then eye catching grain with lots of feathering in the balance of the stock. Are all of the barrels 30" on the Woodside shotguns? I looked for one when they first were offered and never found one. I now shoot mostly Italian shotguns along with my Model 21 Winchesters.
Ruger made a fine gun with the woodside, but who will repair them now? Brass Frame/Lee E

Lee
They had 26",28",and 30". The also offered English stocks. To be truthful it always bugged me Ruger just abandons the guns as soon as they are discontinues them.
