Any idea of the cost of the embellishment back when they were doing this work?

I have no idea. When you think back; that was Factory engraving. Should be valuable one day.

Donnie, I would love to "hope so" but I recall getting the John Adams ( Factory) guns back some time, and LOST money on all three that we had bought...that picture is beautiful by the way

The Studio of Art and Engraving was pretty pricey. I recall hearing that WBR, Jr. wanted it that way to appeal more to the well-to-do, kind of like what Tiffany's or Macy's or some of those other stores do. High prices attract some people. But it obviously didn't work in Ruger's case or the studio would still be around.

Yes, that eagle is a striking feature! I've got this small booklet featuring the studio and artists that is very well done. I believe from 04 or 05.
