Pine Tree Casting plaques

Post by markebrit »

I got these 2 off EBAY a few years ago. The seller said he got them from a Pine Tree Castings employee. The seller lived close to the plant so I believe the story, who else would make such a thing?
They are 12" x 12" x 1/2". They are made of some type of alloy. They have a heavy clearcoat on gold tone metal and the black seems to be a baked on enamel. They are quite striking in person. They may be second as the clearcoat is not perfect. 2 sides had the channels and 2 sides were flat. I mounted them in American Black Walnut, spendy stuff these days. You know that stuff don't grow on trees?
Has anyone seen anything like these?

Well how about that!
That's funny the guy came up with the same frame as I did!

I too have one. Mine came from the Prescott plant. I use it in my displays.

How big is yours, is it a 12"x12" without the frame like mine? Someone said there where different sizes and it's hard to tell from the pic

Mine measures 12 1/8" X 12 1/8" and each of the 4 corners has a 1/2" x 1/2' notch cut out. It appears that it was made that way. I might add that yours are the only others I have seen.

Interesting, I always wondered their original intent. And funny yours made it to AZ.
