My memorabilia collection is finally getting started. Found the Ruger pen on flea bay. I love the colors of the chip set.

Terry,
Only the pen is from ebay, the poker chips are from a good friend. Mike

There weren't many sets of poker chips. I think they only went to distributors and other "friends" of the factory, about the 1992 to 1993 time period.

Good to know, is there an estimate on how many were made? Mike

Around fifty sets were made I believe. The set on ebay a few weeks ago was BN no bids, fetched $1,800.00 + ;)

Terry, I think about 150 sets were done. Just going by memory but I do remember the selling price originally being 350.00. I have a brochure on how to order them also from what I remember is the horse blanket hand bag was offered at the same time. I know one set of poker chips were made into key chains.

Rick,
This is what I got when I made a quick google search, two poker chip dealers said 50 one dealer says 100, so two against one I took the majority number. :? :) I dug out Chads memorabilia list, he shows the year 1990 poker chip set at 132 - 136 made that fits in with your number a lot better than mine. ;)

I believe this is the 1st first Ruger Sports Wear Catalog they printed and contains the info you provided. It was included when I bought my bag.

Yep,, that's the catalog. It was one of the first,, if not the first "accessory" catalogs they printed. I think it dates to 1996. That's what I have in my notes with my poker chip set.
