Hello from Northern Illinois

Post by REDDOG »

I'm very pleased to have become a member of the ROCS ! I have owned and shot many Ruger firearms over the years. I joined at the Wanenmachers Tulsa Arms Show in April. I had a very Pleasant and Informative conversation with Mr. Lee Newton, I explained that I had recently bought a Ruger #1 B in .22-250 a 4 digit serial number gun and was inquiring about finding/buying CORRECT scope rings for it. I was under the assumption that I needed a set of Vertical Rings . Lee told me that my rifle # 71xx didn't come with Vertical Rings but should have "Big Hole" Rings and showed me the difference. That was when I knew I had to join and learn. THANK YOU Lee !
I have since caught the RUGER bug and have added 3 more No.1's to my gun room... Now I need a .257 Roberts !
By the way IMO the Digest alone is worth the price of membership !
Thanks for a great organization !

Welcome JB, happy that you have joined ROCS and are on the website. Mr. Newton has taught me a lot too, he really knows Rugers. He is also a great club President. Sounds like you are picking up some good No. 1s, they are really fine rifles.

Glad to have you with us JB, as I'm sure you're aware like other Rugers those No.1s are addictive and you were definitely talking to the right person about them.

Welcome to the nicest bunch of people that speak Ruger fluently. We have fun and enjoy ourselves. Jump right in and let everyone know what you like
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...
