RPR 6.5 C range report

Post by Charlie1022 »

Well, I finally got time to take my new RPR to the range to try it at ranges up to 500 yards and wow was I impressed with how it shot. I started out at 300 yards and had to make a couple scope adjustments from my 100 yard zero. and started making a solid hit on steel targets. After several shots, I tried 200 yards with no misses. I then tried a smaller steel plate at 400 and was 3 for 3. I then tried 500 yards on steel and was able to make several good hits on that steel target.. I then made 2 out of 3 hits on a paint spray can beside the 500-yard target. I figured I better quit for the day as I only brought a limited supply of ammo with me and wanted to make several more trips to the range while I am here in Florida for the next couple of months.

Let's hear from others on how their RPT shoots.

Glad to hear of your success with your RPR, hopefully the weather will cooperate and I'll be able to give mine a try. I built a portable shooting bench and maybe I can dial it in like you have.

Forgot to mention I shot hand loads with Hornady cases, H4350 with 41.5 gr. and Hornady 140 ELDM bullets set to same OAL as ELDM Match ammo. This was the first time shooting this rifle over 100 yards and I was very pleased on how it and I shot. Looking forward to the next trip to the range.
