Ruger No. 1S - 218 Bee

Post by John Barge »

I have been working up loads for my 218 Bee for several years now and have settled in on 2 loads that are quite accurate in my Bee. My best 3 shot group at 100 yards was 1/4" with 11.6 grains of 2400 with a Speer 45 grain bullet. Overall cartridge length is 1.763".

With a Sierra 50 grain bullet I'm normally around 1/2". I use 14.4 grains of IMR4198. Overall cartridge length with this bullet is 1.821".

Anyone else have some pet loads for their 218 Bee that they would like to share?

I have the No.1 in a Bee, but just shot a few factory loads. Amazing how little powder that little case takes. When you are used to loading 50-80 grains in a case, a pound does not got far. A pound of powder loading a Bee would last my lifetime!
