What size is needed for the American rifle 6.5 creedmoor? Thank you

5/8-24 for the 6.5 Creedmore because of the size of the barrel (it should be threaded 5/8-24).

Now shims or crush washer depends on what you are putting on the barrel. If putting on a flash hider or a muzzle brake, you can get away with a crush washer. If mounting a suppressor (silencer) then shims will be needed. A crush washer WILL NOT necessarily "crush" perfectly keeping the bore of the silencer parallel to the bore of the gun. Shims will keep the item being mounted perpendicular to the barrel (and thus the silencer bore parallel to the rifle bore). You don't want any cant on a silencer when mounted that would make the muzzle of the silencer not be in perfect alignment with the bore. If it is not aligned with the bore, you will have bullet strikes internal to the silencer or at the muzzle and that's not good for you or the silencer.
