Does anybody know of or ever heard of a Ruger number one in Smith & Wesson 500? I’ve researched it some and it’s kind of questionable but I’ve had a local dealer tell me that talo put one out?
Thanks

If true, this is the first I ever heard of it.

I would think if any single shot rifle was more suited for it it would be the number one ,

I own a S&W .460 in a No.1 Ruger rifle, but I do not believe that Ruger ever made the 1/2" caliber version. brass frame/Lee E

There are also some Number one's in .480, but none in .500.

My uncle recently purchased an "unfired" 460 s&w ruger no. 1, he paid too much money for it, and while inspecting the gun after the purchase (purchased online) he found that when a round was in the chamber and the block was closed, there was still room to fit at 5-6 thousandths feeler gage between the back of the round and the block.
Does this sound normal for this gun?
