That would have been the Police Marksmanship Association set. I had a guy buy one off GB and do the transfer through me. Once we gott done with the paperwork, I gave him the guns and the presentation case. He didn't want the case, told me that these were going to be shooters. He sold me the presentation case for $20.
Also had a guy get an Ohio State Police 50th anniversary model Security Six and not want the case, I got it again for a very little bit.
Now, before you all cry FOUL! I did explain, completely, how these cases in themselves could be considered collectors items. Neither of them cared about that, they just wanted the guns...to shoot

You're on the right track Ron, I would have done the same as you.
If someone asks me what their gun is worth, I'll tell them what I believe to be the truth. Now, if they simply name their price ....... I'll either buy it or pass.
BTW .... if in your travels you run across the S&W 60 with the Mo. State Highway Patrol logo etched on the right side, please keep me in mind.
