Team ROCS,
Looky what came in the mail today!!!
Mr Tyler came thru right at 4 months.
He called me a couple days ago and said he really likes projects like this and hoped I would like it.
An amazing transformation (see the first post in this thread for the before pics).
He made the decision to put an original grip frame on it rather than a refurbished one, he says the
refurbished ones either painted or anodized don't look right compared to factory anodizing.
So there is some wear & marks on the grip frame. I have never seen a refurbished one so I will trust his
judgement.
Take a look! Cheers,
JAY

Outstanding, Bobby does great work! That is a beautiful RSS. I agree 100% with his decision to leave the grip frame as is, he knows best.

Interesting bit of information I just discovered.
The Ruger website says that the first serial number for 1953 is of course #1 for the RSS and the beginning serial number for 1954 is #50.
Looking at my Ruger letter they tell me that my #146 was shipped from the factory in December 1953.....
Are these serial numbers "approximate"? Is this a "parts bin" thing?
Just curious & trying to learn.
