Take good care of that one! There were only 299 Single-Sixes produced in the 244020 to 244318 serial number range. These are composed of approximately 160 as the convertible model RSS5X and 130 that were shipped as the LR only model RSS5W.
The auxiliary (extra) cylinder for your gun would be the mag. cylinder, which definitely should have the last three digits of the serial number stamped in 1/16" high numbers. So there is a chance that somebody added that cylinder.
The factory letter will tell you whether it left as a RSS5W or RSS5X.
Honestly, I would retire that one and find another shooter Single-Six. Collectors are all over that out-of-sequence serial number range of Single-Sixes.

Oh wow! Didn't realize there were so little. The mag cylinder is stamped with what I believe are 1/16" numbers with my last 3 matching digits. Just got my Ruger letter back to!chet15 wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 12:22 pm Take good care of that one! There were only 299 Single-Sixes produced in the 244020 to 244318 serial number range.
