Here's what I think happened at the factory...
The barrel is seated to the receiver and the assembly inspected.
Only when it passes that inspection are the rollmarks and serial number put on.
The pistol gets a 22/45 rollmark on the receiver.
So the employee should have seen that and assembled a 22/45 grip frame to it.
The rest of the internals are installed, an incorrect stainless grip frame is attached, the front sight attached, magazine inserted and grips installed.
Then the gun gets packaged. It looks like a KMK512 so gets KMK512 box label.
