I agree with the above. I cancelled my supporting membership on rf.com. Hopefully we’ll get more ROCS members posting on this forum.

Yes before I was cut from the team I suggested we do the supporting member option as I was on the Colt Forum and it was offered there....$15 a year isn't much for all the entertainment provided....BUT I was told to mind my own business....I tried to become a moderator but that was nixed quickly but I did get a glimpse of the super secret moderator area where the mods were laughing and making fun of myself and other members.....they really didn't like my tag line MAKE RUGER FORUM GREAT AGAIN    I really loved the RF and spent too much time there so I guess they taught me a lesson.....They made me expand my horizons and I should actually thank them    I jumped into Colts with the same gusto finding so many new and exciting things to pursue that was a blessing and a curse....so let's make ROCS great again :D :D :D please don't kick me off and I would become a supporting member if such a thing were to be offered.....JMO YMMV....RR

....sad to see it come down to tihngs like that but not surprised, as we have seen far too many times , and on other forums from years ago,, to me I see the "inmates" running the farm, and too often the folks on any given forum run off some newcomers if someones feelings or whatever get 'hurt' these forums are ONLY as good a we ( you) make them and help , encourage NEW people,,,and all too often theNEW people are NOT "collectors" nor 'big dawgs and scare off the common ,everyday "user" of any given firearm, heck we started with COlt years ago, and then moved on to S&W , even helped Jim and Rich write the book of the "Standard Catolog" but that S&W forum became a turn off to me, again the folks participating on a daily basis,,,yes my wife was the collector, NO she never wanted the "New" Ruger letters, hell she still has her RCA Certificates from Nancy P. and see where the RCA ended up, and still is,,,so sad.....these forums can be fun, interesting but one has to remember "when in ROme" do like the Romans" and just follow the rules and be nice, and help, NOT "piss off management" or any of the 'regulars' ,MOST posts I will NOT answer, reply, comment on, because I know when it WILL be taken the wrong way, its all common sense....oh well just my two cents, and carry on gentlemen I got enough issues and problems here at home these days.....happy holidays
Merry Hannakuh Kwanza ;) 8-)

Well, Troy- I really can’t add much other than this whole thing has me considering bailing out on RF.com. One of my good buddies just let me know he was cancelling his paid membership and moving over here too. Mine auto-renews on the 21st and I think I’ll kill it before then.

So… I think you started something!

Dern Troy,, I didn't know you had been banned over on the RF until just a little while ago.

That just sux.

You & I have been members there since 2002. And we both have contributed a lot over the years. Makes me wonder how long I'll last over there.

When I joined,, it was a free site.
When they went to asking for people to be "Supporting members," I thought about it. But I remember that many of us voluntarily sent money to Carl for the site,, AND when we contributed to buying him a bunch of serial number 100 guns.
But with the changes in ownership, a few times,, has made it a bit more impersonal. Carl was known, a collector & a shooter. Now,, we have no idea who owns the site, and where supporting member money goes.

I still find it a good place to visit, and enjoy a LOT of great friendships there. But I also feel they have done the collecting world a dis-service by banning several serious collectors,, like RR, Don, & now Troy. A good business doesn't run off the well known & liked knowledgeable people,, they try to make them happy.

I'll stay there as long as they let me,, as I know I'm just a guest. But I'll be watching things here a lot more too!

Yes it sucks, not good business as contender says.
My take........

We now have an opportunity to build ROCS membership, and THAT is the difference between ROCS and RF.
ROCS is a club of Ruger collectors and enthusiasts, not a for profit business. A club with bylaws and a board of directors that oversee the money paid by members and manage expenses. Click the ABOUT tab on the home page and you can see the names of everyone on the board. Transparency and accountability.

I understand some are pissed at the RF, and I get it, but I think the most successful way to gain more members is to talk about the positives of ROCS rather than talk down RF. The shows, displaying, banquets, the digest, ROCS guns, we are a CLUB, and access to some amazing Ruger knowledge via the founding members.
You get more bees with honey than vinegar, as they say.....

Reach out via PM, email or call, to the folks on RF you know, invite them over. Tell 'em to check us out.
We do this for fun, so lets find others who want to have a good time in a club dedicated to Rugers.

Cheers,
JAYDAWG
