I see Ruger offering a 9mm semi-auto now they're calling the 9E.

Appears to be an SR9 but with adjustable backstrap. Anybody know if there are any other or significant differences between the SR9 and 9E?

Does it seem a little redundant to offer a whole new model if the backstrap could have just been added as an "upgrade" to the SR9?

That is a new one on me...have to agree with your thinking too. I'll have to see if I can find out anything about that one.

Not really too many differences. Ships with one mag, instead of two. Comes in a cardboard box, instead of the plastic one, does NOT have the goofy loaded chamber indicator, different sights, and different serrations on the slide. The frame is identical to the SR9. I, personally, would rather have the E than the SR!
