I bought it. It now makes a pair I have, a GPNY-841 and the GPNY-831. I also have NYCPD Police Service Sixes in both 3 and 4 inch stainless.

Hi Ron,
Is your 4-inch brushed stainless or the matte target gray or whatever they call it?
I'm still looking for the NYPD Speed Six but did pick up the NIS Speedy recently.

My GPNY 4" is the DAO model with the matte finish. When I got it you could see where someone tried to polish it but didn't do a good job. I called Ruger to find out if they shipped them polished or should it be matte. They had me send it back to them and they restored it to just like it left the factory and actually replaced the hammer dog also - ALL at no charge.
I now have my eye on a GPNY 4", .38 Spl that is the standard SA/DA with spurred hammer. I'm pretty sure this one won't be cheap if I can get it because they didn't buy many of them.
I'm always on the lookout for NYPD Six series guns. I have several of the DAO Police Service Six in 4" and one in the 3".

Thanks for the info Ron,
My 3" GPNY is the matte/target gray finish but the 4" is the "regular" brushed stainless. Both 38 Special of course and both DAO.
Seems for having made only 2500 of them there may be several variations; 2 barrel lengths, 2 finishes, etc. I too have heard of some with the regular spurred hammer for SA/DA.

According to RENE NYCPD only bought 500 of the Spurred, 4", .38 Spl Stainless so to get one of those I'm sure will cost some money (but I'm ready

).

Now that you mention that Ron ..... I'm gonna have to double check my 4 inch and make sure about the hammer.
And, who cares what they cost if it's your hobby. Folks should collect what they like and can afford! Ya only live once and other folks opinions don't matter!
