Bearcat information needed

I am looking for when the Bearcat went to the 4.2" barrel. I know why but would like to know when. My best WAG is 2009.
Mike, you are correct, according to the Red Eagle Exchange "Reference of Ruger Firearms, Vol. 1" it was 2009.
