Just got a gem for the collection. Chad says only 500 were made. It's a RDA-86 (Security Six, low back, 6", blue, .38 special). I'll get pictures up as soon as I can.

I had one just like it back in the early 70's when they first came out. I really liked it but the grips were too small for my big hands. Sold it to a friend who really enjoyed it.

There was one of these in the Davis collection in 1983. Sonny Johnson bought all the Security Sixes and I recall he seemed to feel this was the "rarest" of the several in the group. He only displayed this collection a time or two, but it was most impressive, with 75 -100 Security Sixes. I think it was Montgomery in 1983 that I saw it.

Well, I don't have that many (yet ) but I'm up to 52 at last count. I've got some rare ones, some groupings (NYCPD guns and the military guns) so I just don't know how I want to set up my display for the OGCA show next June. One thought is to show the progression of the DA's from the low back frames to the high back frames to the GP's, SP's, LCR. The other is to show the rarer ones (fixed sight Security Sixes, contract guns, those that only a few were made, low serial numbers, etc.)

So many ways that guns can be shown, hard to decide.

Displaying that number is a huge challenge. Off the top of my head, I would go for two concepts; the Rare ones and/or the Evolution of the series.

On another note, can any of you tell me if Ruger made the Police Service Six and/or the Security Six in 9MM? I know they made the Speed Six in 9MM and that are pretty difficult to get. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
