A friend is selling his NMSBHSH (KS47NH, s/n 88-08064) with rings, some ammo and a belt and shoulder holster (Uncle Mikes). The holsters really don't add any value, the ammo some. The Reference of Ruger Firearms says that this is a scarce gun. Conservatively I grade this at 98%. Very minor turn line, bore is perfect, locks up tight as a drum. He told me that he didn't put more than 30 rounds through it (he only shot 180gr JHP). The one ammo box has 30 rounds missing so I believe him. The grips are laminates, not dark enough to be black, probably considered gray which from reading those were the two colors then.

Any guesstimates on value? Posted here to get your inputs, now I start looking on Gunbroker completed auctions.

Blue Book Pocket Guide for Rugers says $595.

This gun (when actually sold) in the GB completed items search sold in the mid $550's. Those who are selling and asking in the $629 area are getting no bids at all.

Later runs and more available Hunters on the net seems to have brought the prices down a tad. $550 or so is about right then you have to add shipping and FFL transfer fees gets up up to $600-625. JMHO

I agree with Bill, around here, to get any "top dollar" the gun has to be about new ,in the box, have all the packaging", start to get them 'used", maybe hunted with, all these extras, that tell MOST folks this gun was indeed "used", holsters mean it was carried, was it fast or quick draw?? ( no not in the case of the BIG hunter models) and on and on...condition IS everything.

One is far better off to sell ANY and ALL 'extras', separate and away from the gun , all too often folks "throw" in this and that to make the 'deal' ,,,,yep great for the buyer, NOT for the seller

Thanks for the replies. I have to call him to see waht he may be expecting to get and can discuss what I've found out. The ammo, belt and shoulder holser will go out for sale at my next sporting goods only garage sale and I'll start with putting it out there and then go to the forums here and rugerforum.com before going to GB.

The gun itself is in really good condition and if I get some sales of the Six series I've refurbished I might even buy it myself.
