My first foray into Redhawks, a late 80's .41 Magnum. I'm going to have to find a set of correct grips for it, came with the box and manual and my LGS sold me a set of rings for it. Also an early 90's MkII 10" Target.

Very Nice!!! A #8 Tyler T-Grip will fit your Redhawk if you have original grips on it.

Great additions, love the Redhawk. If you want to go to the original wooden grips here's a new set in the box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/RUGER-Redhawk- ... Sw99ReLYIz

Nice find. The Redhawks in .41mag are hard to find, I have been looking for a couple of them myself with no lock.

Sorry I'm late responding, I've been entertaining the "Mother of all colds" for the last few days, don't get them very often, but when I do...

I like the support offered on this site. Watertender: I've used Tylers in the past on a Mountian Gun and a Chief's Special, that's a great idea on this one so I got the link that 67stingray provided me and bought the grip set there, I'm now set. I've come to the conclusion that I will focus on .41 Mags, Rugers mainly, but I have A S&W, Marlin, and a start on the offerings in barrels from T/C also, six guns and two barrels. I won't try fooling myself by promising that it's only Ruger .41 Blackhawks and Redhawks that I'll get, but I'll look harder for them than Supers, Single Sixes, and Bearcats.

I crunched numbers the day that I got the 7-1/2" and figured I was Ok, so the next day I went back to my LGS and got this too....

My longest search was my Marlin 1894FG, .41 Mag. I discovered those when my cousin showed me his, it took nearly six years before I found a new one in '06. I think they only make them sporadically in small runs. I see Redhawks, but they tend to have a lot of mileage on them, real good ones are rare. Davidson's brought out a limited run of Blackhawk .41's in stainless steel a few years back, I didn't get any at the time (pre-collecting) and I haven't seen any on the used market yet.

Thanks, It turned out even better than I thought, my picture doesn't it justice, if it was ever fired, it wasn't much.

Nice to hear of your interest in the .41mag. I believe they are the hardest of the Blackhawk series to find in like new or NIB condition. I have almost a complete collection of the OLD model Blackhawks in .41mag. I have been looking for a lot longer than 6 years and still haven't turned one up. (I only know of one to exist) So I decided to expand my 41 collection to include all 41 magnums that Ruger produces, Blackhawks, Bisleys, Redhawks, Super Redhawks, and Super Blackhawks.
I agree with you on the condition of most that we see, especially the early blued Redhawks. Remember this caliber is a very popular caliber with handgun hunters. I believe this is why I am having such a hard time finding the different Super Redhawks. But the hunt is what I enjoy and there are several different models and barrel lengths that I still need.
