In my Ruger medallion quest, found these on eBay. They supposedly pewter, measure .75". What were these used on? Rifle pistol grip caps? Any help appreciated.

I have a couple of them but can't remember where I got them. Not sure what they were used on, possibly something like a gun case due to the way the back of it has an very large stud (see pic).

Interesting.

Just musing out loud. The eagle's head is a different shape than most. Plus,, there isn't a registered trademark on them. And coming off sleezbay,, I often wonder about the authenticity of them.

I'm NOT saying they aren't factory,, but it does cause me to pause a bit.

I own a fairly good collection of pins, medallions etc & other memorabilia,, and I can't recall seeing these as a factory item.

I am open to a more in depth discussion for sure.

Contender, very good point on the lack of a Trademark, would doubt that Ruger made those.

No trade mark on the 1/2 inch grip medallions either. Also difference in neck feathers. Seems the smaller size the less detail, these .75 of course much smaller than the key ring fob. These do have the round circle shapes on the back just like the 1/2'grip medallions. differences in finer details amoung several different 1/2 inch medallions I've seen pics of.

Are medallions made by Ruger or are they contracted out? What ever the origin, factory authorized or not, still curious about what the .75 was used for.

Additional medallion logo observations:

1/4 inch medallion on 2005 Case Ruger toothpick no TM, ill formed neck neck feathers, 3/8 inch medallion 2005 Case Ruger trapper does have TM and ill formed neck feathers, 3/5 inch snap on 2005 Case Ruger Lite Weight Hunter sheath missing TM, but TM present in the rubber handle impression. Inconsistent even with factory authorized logo.

I know obsessing over minor details.
