I have a #1 model number is 01385 and a #3 with the model number 01352.
To what do these numbers refer, ie is there a descriptor of some kind?

They are nothing more than Ruger's in-house number.
The Number 3's got model numbers of 1350 to 1355 or 1356
Number 1's started at 1301 and went upward from there.
If somebody wanted a barreled action for the base model 1320 for example, the barreled action was model number 9320.
When they ran out of 13xx numbers they went to 113xx numbers. Once they ran out of 113xx numbers they went to the 213xx sequence.
The next thing is, Ruger's serial number system is also based off of the model number sequence. Model numbers starting at the 13xx sequence got a 130- prefix to start with.
The M77 had a model sequence of 0700, and they started off with a 70- prefix. The .357 Blackhawk a 03xx model sequence, so they got a 30- prefix.

Thanks Chet, I thought it may have given some idea about my #1, was it a 1a, 1b, 1s or 1v or w.h.y.

No, the model numbers are all over the board.
When the Number 1 did come out, there was a few numbers set aside for the 1A, another few numbers set aside for the 1B, and the 1H's started at 1320, 1321 etc., but once all the model variations and calibers started coming, those got used up pretty fast so whatever new model variation came out just got the next number in line.

RocDoc, mine's a 308 as well. I think the man I bought it from said it was either a 1s or a 1v but can't remember for sure.

The 1385 is a 1B so it should be a 26" medium weight barrel without sights, and with beavertail forearm.

Hi Chet, It has a 26" medium barrel but it also has sights, I'm not sure what qualifies as a beavertail foreend .
I've tried to attach a picture of it.
.
Since that pic I've swapped out the scope and put my old Zeiss 1.5 x 6 on it as it really is a much clearer scope than the Redfield Widefield it had on previously.

That's a beavertail there, but with sights, that is very unusual- as in dang unusual!
