ROCS Digest Spring 2023

Post by contender »

I got my latest Digest today. Already read it. Loved it,, "mostly."

Apparently,, we've had a little mistake.
On page 49,, the article on Ron's display seemed to end w/o completion. Am I wrong,, or did I miss something?

Yep, looks like it was cut off, sorry about that. Below is the complete paragraph with the five words that were left off "underlined":

Ron completed his display showing the different revolver boxes (with the timeline) that Ruger has used over the years to ship their handguns and included a shipping box and protective wrap that was used while in transit to foreign countries.

Otherwise, I sure hope everyone enjoyed it.

Great job everyone involved. On my Dearden article, his collection of S/N 31 Rugers. Those Rugers are not for sale now... taken from an old "for sale list" letter. Sorry, I should of dated it.

Great issue!
Congratulations to those who displayed.
Now I understand the interest in the Whitney auto pistols. ;)

Another great issue, a lot of very informative articles covering a wide range of Ruger items. Thank you to all that contributed and sharing items with us that normally stays hidden in safes. Vince, the gold bead sight on your RH41 were offered by Ruger as an alternative sight catalog number GBVR. Here they are in original packaging.

Bennett,
Do you know if these sights were available on the gun shipped from the factory? Or were they only an option that the customer had to buy and have installed?

Thanks for your help,
Vince

Vince, I'm pretty sure the Redhawks were shipped with the black - red insert front sight and blued - white outline notched rear sight and the GBVR and R4S (pic below) were available as accessories. The GBVR sight is my favorite.
