Did I read the write up correctly? That only 2 of the 21 planned rifles were actually built? I read that all the paintings were done.

"Though all of the forty two original paintings were done and all prints made, only one more rifle was produced." The beginning of that paragraph talked about the paintings and the auction of the first gun (Big Horn Sheep)...

That could account for the pricing also.

I understand that our late Friend, Lynn Laudise, sold the unfinished third and fourth rifles...........One of the alleged reasons for the unfinished project was the reported institutional care required of Franz Martkl, the engraver.
