SSM4-FS Model 06515

Post by Ruger8r »

Just added this to my blue 32 fixed sight collection. In three years of looking I've only seen one other on internet sales sites. There can't be very many.
The short rosewood panels are cool although fitment seems off

That's a great looking Single-Six 32, nice case colors. The .32 Mags are fun to shoot. Great score.

Thanks, Bill.
Probably won't shoot this one but my favorite is a modified SSM5F. Lots of fun and getting better as ammo prices decline to a more affordable level. I think all the fixed sight models are under appreciated.

It seems to me, from observation, that the SSM-4-F models may be the only all steel, blue(ish) Single-Sixes ever produced (correct me if I'm wrong). They also have a higher level of polish than usual (the grip frames are outstanding) and the hammer and trigger are polished and blued. The trigger is especially nice. They have a satisfying heft to them that suggests quality.
It's too bad they didn't sell well when the bulk hit the market early 2000s. Then distributors unloaded them at fire sale prices, later. Those undervalued guns are coming to the secondary market reasonably priced but I think they will eventually catch up to the price increases of other discontinued Rugers.

I correct myself: I believe the BNV Sixes are all steel. I need one of those, now.
