Nixon Pistol

This Ruger .22 pistol was given to Vice President Richard M. Nixon in 1954. Grips are real pearl.

Thank you, Bill. I enjoy doing research. Thank God for Google & Spell-Check. I have a lot of time to research things (now days). If I were getting paid to do it I'd be rich!

The serial number is 47698. I have not been able to find out who the engraver was. Maybe John can help.

Great piece of history.
I believe there was a picture in an old RCA Journal of the presentation.

I read somewhere that the Nixon Standard Model .22 pistol had been dropped and one of the grips broken. I can't find the article and wonder if anyone else had seen the same information.

Several years back a cleaning lady knocked the pistol off a table and broke a chip off of one grip.
