Single six

Post by 101ssgt »

Hello, I am hoping to get a little help with one of my old model single sixes. I has a serial number of 211***. The listings I’ve seen say that it falls in the range of a 1958 lightweight. It is not a lightweight, I’ve thought it was a convertible, but I don’t know. Has a 4 5/8 bbl. I really appreciate any help anyone might be able to give.

As far as I recall, there are some Single Six revolvers that were numbered in the lightweight serial number range (in your case that would be 1958). These guns are rare (I am still looking for one). Other collectors may weigh in as well.

I'm pretty sure the out of sequence single sixs in the Light weight serial range are RSS5's
Your revolver is most likely an all blue Lightweight with that 211xxx serial number....

That would be nice RadicalRod, but it isn’t a lightweight.

I have added a couple of pictures of the single six I’m talking about. Any ideas?

Just saying! Take the Cylinder out of the frame & look in the cylinder frame underneath the rear sight is there a small screw head to be seen?
