I found this on GB a few weeks back. It had been converted, but the original parts came with it. Also had some aftermarket stags, so today I put her back to original, and it felt good!!!
John Dougans book has this one listed as being assembled on Dec15th 1953, the first day of production for Ruger Revolvers
I asked records to include that in my letter, and they did.
For a type 1 RSS geek like me, this one makes my little heart go pitter-patter
Cheers,
JAYDAWG

Thanks guys.
Bought my first Ruger in 2010 and have been accumulating ever since.
Then found the flatgates. Fell for "Plum Purple", and low SN's. The type 1's can be all that and more.
Bought Dougan's book on the SA's, and subscribed to RENE. Enjoy the knowledge in both.
The appendix in John's book with the RSS's shipped in December 53 tipped me over........
Had to have one.
It wasn't enough. I need more.........HELP!!!!
When I saw this one on GB, of course I wanted it, but seeing it was a FIRST DAY gun, I could barely
type in my bid, my hands were shaking so much!!
Very fortunate to be the next caretaker of this piece of Ruger history.
I appreciate all the help and encouragement from the ROCS team.
Makes it fun.
Cheers,
Jay
