Ruger's Uncle

Bill Ruger's great-uncle, John F. Batterman, migrated to Brooklyn, NY from Germany in 1829. He produced and marketed a soft drink (soda water). This is a picture of one of the Batterman bottles that product was sold in. Sorry for the low quality pics. It reads "BATTERMAN 1861 Brooklyn, N.Y. Back: a large letter B.

That is very interesting history. Guess that's where Bill's middle name came from. Where in the world did you find that bottle.

I too find this very interesting. I love the old history like this. While not directly associated with firearms,, yet it's an association of the family & as such,, part of history.
It'd be a great item to add to a display for sure!
