Is this real or is it changed barrel? I cannot find it in any listing of Distributor models.

I do not know of any that were made. Have heard some rumors over the years but yet to hear of one that could be validated by the factory. I do not see a barrel address in the picture and that is the first question that I would ask the seller...what is the barrel address? If it has a correct Ruger barrel address you would have to have a letter from the factory saying that it was shipped with a 6" barrel. If it would letter it would be one extremely rare SBC4.

I have requested the seller to tell me if there is a Ruger letter. There is no way I would buy it without one.

yes, Steve, you can, and its been done over the years, longer barrels installed on Bearcats, the tough part is "adding" the correct rollmarking, so either has to be hand engraved or with a 'pantograpsh' engraved onto the new, replacement barrel

we had a couple of 6 inchBC-4 from time to time, BUT laura would never allow one in her collection
