These Bighorns are on the plains of Southeastern Colorado in a deep canyon that has two large running water springs. There are pictographs on the canyon walls indicating that prehistorically sheep inhabited the area. Colorado transplanted some Bighorns into the canyon in 1980 and they are doing quite well. I found them by accident after a successful Mule Deer hunt in New Mexico where I shot a nice deer with a flat bolt 25-06 !! While the hunting partners of mine were struggling to fill their deer tags I wandered into Colorado and stumbled onto this amazing place. Dr.C
