1A in .303 British

I was pleased to recently buy a .303 British, one of the few I have seen with nice wood. The box is missing and there's a couple of small dings in the stock, so it will be a shooter and go hunting.

I've read reports that most of these were actually shipped to Canada and Australia, and less than 100 were shipped to the USA. Anyone able to confirm?
