Presevation & Restoration of Boxes

Post by TEMIII »

I acquired a nice T514 Tapered Ear recently and the original box, manual, sales flyer and layaway sales receipt (Jan 1954) came with. With the exception of the outside of the hinge, the box is in very good shape (see attached).

What are the normal do's and don'ts for collectors with boxes like this? What are the best practices?

How about a picture of the pistol too? That would be appreciated by many here for sure.
Some people sit on $.05 of knowledge like it is the treasure of Egypt. I will teach anyone $.10 worth just to prove a point...

TEMIII that is a nice box and dang scarce! I keep boxes seperate from their guns where they will not get damaged when stacking or getting the guns in and out. I wrap valuable old boxes like this one in sink wrap so as to to get soiled or scuffed.
Let's see some pics of that pistol too.
